Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) treats each person as a whole. TCM recognizes the connection between body and mind and how the body and the mind affect and ultimately, transform each other.

TCM can help conquer almost any illness or disease. The TCM diagnosis identifies the specific “pattern of disharmony” in the patient, which is often the root or cause of the problem. Every person has a distinct pattern. If several patients have the same illness, i.e. migraine headaches, the reasons behind the headaches are unique to each patient.

TCM and Western medicine can work cooperatively as TCM creates an environment for quicker and accelerated healing. In China, it is common to seek TCM care after a major trauma (such as an automobile accident) to restore the body’s balance and rejuvenate the mind.

A core component of TCM is called vital energy (Qi). This energy flows through the body via meridians much like the way water flows through pipes. And when energy gets blocked, it can cause illness. So TCM practitioners work to unblock this energy and restore the body’s natural ability to overcome illness. TCM restores the balance by reactivating body’s own healing mechanisms. …….read more…...

Other Conditions May be Treated by TCM

1. Endometriosis

The symptoms of Endometriosis are similar to dysmenorrheal based on traditional Chinese medicine. Due to ectopic endometrium in action of female hormones cycle, it locally produces the hemorrhage and necrosis. In TCM, it is called “upon the blood off line and the blood coke built in lower part of the body (Xia Jiao)”. Therefore, promoting blood circulation and cleaning blockage only treat the symptoms, while nourishing liver, kidney and adjusting Chongren meridian will treat the root problems.

Based on our long-term practice, by using “different pain relief drink fluids”, we focus on the blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis and smoothing qi to stop the pain. This not only can eliminate dysmenorrheal caused by endometriosis, also can treat the formation of mass produced by tissue fibrosis.  By using “Assisted Reproductive Ling Tong drink liquid”, we have a very good effect in cueing infertility caused by endometriosis. By using “eliminate tumor drink” to strongly dissipate a mass and promote blood circulation, we have achieved remarkable results in treatment of adenomyosis and chocolate cyst embolism.

Body acupuncture: Needle CV4(Guan Yuan), CV3(Zheng Ji), LI4(Hegu), and SP6(Sanyinjiao) acupuncture points 1 time per day for 7 days, each time leaves the needles on for 20 minutes before or during menstruation.

2. Irregular Menstruation

Treatment of Irregular Menstruation is the champion of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The treatment should be focus on the patient with menstrual periods, colors, period volume, texture and the whole body’s symptoms. It can really get good therapeutic effects on the treatment of four areas such as the cold, hot, deficiency and excess. Moreover, to a lot of gynecological diseases, traditional Chinese medicine will be starting from the condition of period. Once the menstruation is reconciled, the various illnesses will be gone.

For kidney deficiency and blood heat type, expel kidney qi, release inside heat and cool down the blood to prevent miscarriage.

For spleen and kidney deficiency type, expel spleen and tonify kidney to prevent miscarriage.

Clinical criteria: during miscarriage treatment, full-month recovery is required. The shortest treatment is half to one month and the longest treatment is two to three months. If the treatment is failure, the abortion is occurred.

To treat this disease, use Shihuisan, flavored Xiaoyao pills, Guipi pills, Shiquandapu pills, Jingquishenqi pills and Yougui pills. The result is unique and excellent.

5. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease

If contracting this disease, the effectiveness is often poor with general anti-inflammatory pain medicine. The symptom of the disease is mainly for long-term pain of lower abdomen and waist. The pain is even worse during the menstrual period accompanied by the increase in the period volume and period extension. If use traditional Chinese medicine to smooth Qi, circulate blood, and clear away heat and toxic materials, a good effect will be granted within a short time.

6. Menopausal syndrome

Many women under or over their 50th often occurs menstruation disorders, symptoms including night sweats, hot flashes, irritability, dizziness and palpitations. The modern medicine refers to as “menopausal syndrome”. While traditional Chinese medicine is based on the different symptom of patients, such as hyperactive liver-yang ascending abnormal (Gan Yang Shang Kang), flaming up of fire due to Yin deficiency and disharmony between the heart and kidney, it will receive satisfactory results by prescribing the right medicine and using the method of increasing Yang by nourishing Yin.

The treatment of menopausal syndrome by TCM mainly uses syndrome differentiation approach, depending on the symptoms to prescript medicine. The example below is for women with the three different types of syndromes.

Kidney Yin deficiency: clinical symptom shows menstrual disorders, menstrual cycle shorter or less quantity, or collapse or leakage, dizziness, ringing in the ears, sweating, waist and knee pain, heel pain, or dry skin, dry mouth, dry stool, urine less with color yellow, tongue red with less moss, pulse breakdown. If it is insomnia and irritability, use Zhu Sha An Shen Wan, Bo Zi Yang Xin Wan, Tian Wang Bu Xin Wan, An Shen An Zhi Wan. If it is depression, use Jia Wei Xiao Yao San of the proprietary Chinese medicines.

7. Acupuncture Treatment of Menopausal syndrome

Mainly take KI(Zu Shao Yin) Kidney meridian and LR(Zu Jue Yin) Liver meridian points.

Main points:  BL23(Shen Shu), SP6(San Yin Jiao), KI6(Tai Xi), LR3(Tai Chong), DU20(Buai Hui), RI1(Yong Quan) and KI14(Si Hai) meridian points. Acupuncture 3 to 4 points each time to reinforce and increase the energy. According to Yin and Yang affect, add or subtract the acupuncture points.

There are many acupuncture points that can be used to treat Menopausal syndrome. The commonly used ones are DU20(Bai Hui), HN3(Yen Tang), HT5(Tong Li), HT7(Shen Men), KI14(Qi Hai), RN4(Guan Yuan), SP6(San Yin Jiao), KI16(Tai Xi) and etc.

Modern clinical and experimental studies have show that acupuncture can regulate the body environment and the autonomic nervous system to produce therapeutic effects. The pathways for regulation are involved in nervous, endocrine, immune and other multi-system and multi-target. The biggest advantage by acupuncture for the treatment of climacteric syndrome can focus on each person’s different physical condition to needle on the meridian points. For example, during menopause some women with Yin deficiency will have the symptom of hyperactive liver-yang ascending abnormal and deficiency of cardiac blood. In addition to menstrual disorder, some women often accompany with dizziness, upset irritability, hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia and dreaminess, etc; while some women with ferrite Yang and kidney Yang deficiency are often caused by lack of spleen-yang and sputum qi stagnation, and accompany with abdominal distension, no appetizing, thin stool and tired. So the treatment method will be different by using the eight meridian points and needling according to the true different syndromes.
