Treatment of Allergy and Seasonal Allergy by TCM
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in treating seasonal allergy and allergic problems has the characteristics of good efficient and effectiveness can remain longer. Chinese Medicine doctors treat the human body with organs as the core, blood and fluid as the material basis and meridian system as the communication network which has the activities of going up and down or in and out. The nose is related closely to the lungs, spleen, kidney and immune system. If the lungs, spleen and kidney are very strong, the immune system is functioning normally. If any of them has deficiency, it can affect the immune system. Therefore, many Chinese Medicine doctors believe that the incidence of this disease internally is related to the internal organs dysfunction and personal temperament, and externally is caused by wind, cold and other bad energy.
General Treatment Methods Acupuncture points: BL13(Feishu), GV14(Dazhui), BL11(Dashu), BL23(Shenshu), BL20(Pishu), HN3(Yintang).
According to our clinical practice we normally use LI4(Heku), HN3(Yintang) and LI20(Yengxiang) to treat stuffy running nose, which not only gives an immediate effect, but also increase the immune system function to prevent cold.
The organs are unified with the Back-shu points. Acupuncture and moxibustion Back-shu such as BL13(Feishu), GV14(Dazhui), BL11(Dashu), BL23(Shenshu) and BL20(Pishu) points can warm the lungs and dispel the cold, smooth qi and strengthen the spleen, nourish the kidneys and regulate the blood. This will enhance the immune system and reinforce the nose and lungs functions to have them quickly recovered from the allergic reactions.
